Perpetuity : MidCentury Patterned Wedding Band in 18ct White Gold

Faceted on the perimeter with raised, undulating waves through the centre, this is a wedding ring with a difference. About as far from a “plain” gold band as you can get without adding gemstone embellishments, this easy-to-wear band has an abundance of visual interest. Circa 1950. Manufacture:  Modelled in 18ct white gold, hallmarked 18ct Elite to the inside of the band, with makers mark of a five pointed star with a circle inside. I believe this was an Australian manufacturer, but have yet to learn who – I come across patterned bands from this era marked ‘Bridal’ or ‘Elite’ with the same makers mark. (If you know who it is please tell me!) The gold fineness has been verified by XRF test. The outer edges are faceted, the centre section is raised with an undulating patten and engraved details. Somewhat mechanical in appearance, the styling is truly androgynous. The band has not been rhodium plated and is a steely colour similar to platinum. Uniform 3.5mm wide all the way around, it sits 1.3mm high on the finger. Weighs 2.5 grams. Size:  (Aus/UK) L 1/4 (USA) 6 (International) 51.5 not resizable Condition:  Excellent vintage condition. Some slight softening of the engravings due to age and wear. No faults to note, ready for immediate and everyday wear.
