Works perfectly with Vhedia TPMS hardware for reliable, accurate readings every time. In Short: You’ll always know what’s happening with your tyres — before it becomes a problem. Quick Installation & Setup Guide Screw on your sensors Screw each external TPMS sensor onto your tyre valve stems. Make sure they’re tight and secure. If you’re also fitting caravan sensors, you can screw those on too — but for this setup, we’ll focus on the car sensors first. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone (important) Before turning your car on, switch off Bluetooth on your phone. This stops CarPlay or Android Auto from launching automatically, which can block the internet connection your head unit needs for setup. Tip: You can turn Bluetooth back on after setup. Make sure your head unit has internet You’ll need an active internet connection to install the TPMS Aware App. You can use: A SIM card in your head unit, a Wi‑Fi hotspot from your phone, or a home network connection. Download the TPMS Aware App Open the Google Play Store on your Vhedia head unit. Log in with your Gmail account if needed. Search for “TPMS Aware”, tap Install, and wait for it to finish downloading. Plug in the TPMS receiver Take the Vhedia TPMS receiver (with USB‑B plug) and plug it into one of the head unit’s USB ports. If you’ve run out of USB ports, use a Vhedia USB hub — many setups place the extra hub in the glovebox for easy access. When prompted, select “Always open with TPMS Aware” and tap OK. Open the TPMS Aware App Once plugged in, the app should open automatically. When asked for the signal source, choose USB. The app will now connect to the receiver. Check your sensor readings You should soon see tyre pressure and temperature readings appear on the screen. If some sensors don’t show up, unscrew one and screw it back on — this wakes it up and forces a quick connection. Adjust your units and settings Go into settings and change pressure units from Bar to PSI if preferred. If you have caravan or trailer sensors, you can turn those on in the app as well. Mount your receiver neatly You can place the receiver inside the glovebox or any tidy, dry spot in the cabin. If your kit includes a repeater, mount it near the rear of your vehicle or caravan for the best signal range. You’re all set! Once you see all tyre readings on screen, your system is ready to use. The app will continue to monitor and alert you automatically whenever there’s a pressure or temperature issue. What does the Vhedia TPMS External Sensor do? It tracks your tyre pressure and temperature in real time and sends the data to your Vhedia head unit through the TPMS Aware App. This helps you spot low pressure, overheating, or slow leaks early — before they cause damage, flats, or uneven wear. 2. How does it connect to my Vhedia head unit? The sensors connect wirelessly (433.92 MHz) to the Vhedia TPMS receiver. Simply plug the receiver into your head unit’s USB port, pair the sensors through the TPMS Aware App (see video link), and you’re ready to go. The app on your head unit will automatically pick up the signal and start showing live readings. 3. Will it work on my car? Yes. The Vhedia TPMS External Sensor works with any vehicle running a Vhedia head unit — cars, utes, 4WDs, vans, or caravans. 4. What’s the wireless range of the sensors? Each sensor works up to around 4 metres from the receiver. That’s plenty for most vehicles and medium-sized caravans or trailers. If your setup is longer (like a big caravan or trailer), don’t worry — our 6-, 8-, and 10-sensor kits include a repeater to boost the signal for reliable readings on every wheel. 5. How many sensors can I use? You can connect up to 10 sensors in total. Example setups include: 4 on your car 4 on your caravan or trailer 2 spares You can easily add or remove sensors, swap their positions, or hide your caravan when not towing — all from the TPMS Aware App. 6. How do I hide caravan sensors when I’m not towing? Just open the TPMS Aware App on your head unit and tap “Remove Caravan”. Your car sensors stay active, and your caravan sensors will disappear from the display until you re-add them later with one tap. 7. What is the pressure range the sensors can handle? The external sensors accurately measure from 0 to 800 kPa (0 to 116 psi), suitable for standard passenger tyres, 4WDs, and heavy-duty trailers. Pressure accuracy is ±10 kPa (±1.45 psi) between 20 °C and 50 °C. 8. How does it alert me if something’s wrong? If your tyre pressure or temperature goes outside your set limits, your Vhedia head unit will instantly pop up an on-screen warning and sound alert — even if you’re using navigation, music, or other apps. You’ll also get alerts for fast leaks, high temperature, or low sensor battery. 9. Will it pick up temperature as well? Yes — every sensor reports both pressure and temperature in real time. You’ll see both values displayed for each tyre on your head unit screen. This helps you spot overheating early, especially during long drives, towing, or off-road conditions. 10. Can it detect early signs of a bad wheel bearing? Yes, it can help. A failing wheel bearing creates heat that transfers through the hub to the tyre’s air — the affected tyre sensor will show a noticeably higher temperature than the others. Several customers have caught early bearing issues this way and avoided costly breakdowns. 11. How accurate and fast are the readings? The sensors are designed for precision and durability: Pressure accuracy: ±1.45 psi (20 °C to 50 °C) Temperature accuracy: ±4 °C Operating range: –40 °C to 125 °C Readings refresh every few seconds for stable, accurate data. 12. What happens when I air down for off-road driving? No stress — just switch to Off-Road Mode in the TPMS Aware App. This changes your alert thresholds so you won’t get false “low pressure” warnings while you’re aired down on the tracks. You can swap back to On-Road Mode anytime. 13. How long does the battery last? Each external sensor uses a CR1632 (140 mAh) coin battery that typically lasts over a year, depending on driving frequency and conditions. The app will show a low-battery warning when it’s time to replace it. Batteries are easy to replace yourself. 14. Are the sensors waterproof and dustproof? Yes. Each sensor is rated IP67, meaning it’s fully dustproof and protected from rain, puddles, mud, and off-road grime — built to handle real Aussie driving. 15. What’s included in the kit, and how do I install it? Installation’s quick — just screw the sensors onto your tyre valves and pair them through your head unit’s TPMS Aware App. The system detects them automatically. What’s in each kit: 4-Sensor Kit: Receiver 4 sensors 6-Sensor Kit: Receiver 6 sensors signal repeater 8-Sensor Kit: Receiver 8 sensors signal repeater 10-Sensor Kit: Receiver 10 sensors signal repeater All kits include anti-theft nuts, a spanner, and mounting screws. 16. My head unit isn’t showing data — what should I check? If a sensor isn’t reading: Make sure it’s screwed on tightly. Check or replace the battery. Confirm the receiver’s plugged into the USB port and within 4 metres. Try re-pairing the sensor in the TPMS Aware App. If it still doesn’t show up, reposition the repeater for better signal. If nothing fixes it, contact Vhedia Support — all sensors and receivers are covered under warranty. 17. What’s covered under warranty? Your TPMS sensors and receiver come with a 3-year warranty covering any manufacturing or connection faults. Note: Batteries aren’t covered since they naturally wear out over time, just like remote or watch batteries — but replacements are quick and inexpensive.
